Puppet Prayer

Tonight I met with the group of people that I am privileged to work with in the puppet ministry. We meet on Monday nights and usually spend half our time in prayer & planning and half our time practicing for the next program on our calendar. Tonight we met for a short announcement time and spent the next hour in prayer for our team members, our leader , Pastor Rick, our church, our congregation and our staff, especially Pastor Mike. God has sent so many wonderfully gifted people to serve in the many facets of ministry that make up our church and we thanked Him for each and every one. We thanked him for the strong foundation of prayer in our church and recommitted ourselves to prayer for each other and our church. At the same time we brought out the advice given so long ago to Peter, " Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) We committed to pray together and separately for the members of our team to not be turned aside from their part in God's Plan. Sunday night I met with another part of our church and guess what we prayed? the very same thing! satan you are not welcome on this hallowed ground and your are forbidden to approach the hearts and minds of God's saints. Tuesday another group meets, Wednesday another , people are talking to GOD! Do you catch my drift? satan wants us to lay down and play dead when he sends attacks and lies our way..we're tired of being his whipping boys - it is time for the Church stand on the promises of our Savior and run this liar into the edge of the abyss where he is destined to spend eternity. " In Ephesians 6:18 Paul wrote, " Be alert, and always keep on praying.." James 44:7-8 says , " Submit yourselves then to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify you hearts, you double minded." How much more direct can our Heavenly Father get with us? Watch out! satan is real. Never stop praying! Give your self to God! and then the very best part, the Rock upon which I have built my faith, HE the Lord of the Universe, God who is all powerful, all knowing and so much more will COME NEAR to me! Me the lowest of the low, he will - note the action verb- COME NEAR TO me. He will come near to you also, anyone who SUBMITS and that is the hardest for so many to do- let go of our human stupidity and let His Will be done. Think on these things.
