WILLING DISBELIEF

"When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do but on what God said he would do. " Romans 4:18 God is not asking us to do something new. He asked Abraham and each believer since the same thing. Believe in what God says we can do. The effects of positive thinking have been studied and brought to our attention by those who seem to believe it is something they thought of. NOT. There is no new thought, idea, concept that God did not have first. What would happen if each of us decided to think only of what He has told us we can do? We would not have time to bemoan our fate, our failing ministries, our failures. Give it a try today. Decide to willingly suspend the disbelief that He never lies and always provides for every situation IF we are "believers". Are you? Am I?

Ahhh...it all falls back on that little word which such huge meaning called FAITH. Back in June when I taught about faith at the women's conference, the biggest struggle most faced was faith. They believed God could do it but didnt believe he actually would. One of my favorite chapters of the Bible, while boring to most, is Hebrews 11. Over and over it talks about Abraham,Enoch, Noah etc. facing the impossible and each time their faith pulled them through.
God is capable of way more than we give him credit for...sometimes we just need to move out of His way and let Him perform!
