Are you doing your part?

Have you prayed for your pastor ? He is bringing the Word to you tomorrow. Have you prayed for the people who welcome visitors? Have you prayed for the visitors? Have you prayed for the Lost who are trying to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit? How hard is it to drive your cares into the lot, get out ( "Those people are looking at my clothed, my car, my hair is a mess, I wont know any of the music, what if they know about my sins?) come inside and find the bathrooms, sanctuary, classrooms for their children, where to sit. All of this before the worship starts and the preacher brings out his Bible and drives home the truth of their spiritual condition. I'm sure if you think about it you can "see" other people who are there every Sunday and need your prayers.
If by chance you are that person, attending a new church for the first time, I have been praying for you as someone once prayed for me to enter the doors of my church. God is not surprised He knows our lives from the moment of conception to the moment of departure for His Presence.
Go looking for what God is going to do for you! Regular pew occupants, first time to visit, child of God or looking, He has something for each of us.

Prayer Walking- Apple Festival Style

This afternoon I visited the Apple Festival which as you can guess is a festival originating with the celebration of the apple crop which for many years was the major source of income in this area of NC if you are not local. My sister had some shots for a photo project so I agreed to go downtown. While I was waiting for her to get the right angle it occurred( translation: Thumping on my head) to me that the children, parents, musicians, vendors all could use prayer so I found myself casting around for what the Holy Spirit had nudged me to pray about. Father, please keep these young ones safe from all predators, make the evil one so uncomfortable that he will flee and not be effective in deceit. Let the people enjoy the evening with their families, (Lots of Families) let no one push the older ones, steal from anyone, guests or vendors. Remove any thoughts of ill will for others and replace it with a sense of gratitude that we live in an area not immersed in evil, with clean air and a wonderful crop of apples to bless the farmers who have labored in vain for several years. I found myself seeing happy families, parent with children, couples holding hands, some alone moving slowly or faster than the crowd to avoid being seen it seemed. Vendors working hard to make a living, some at ease some tense, What are their stories Father, You know and I ask that you bless especially those alone and unhappy, those troubled, reach out and make your loving Presence felt. Well I have sore legs and a little sun on my nose but a peaceful heart from answering when called to spend some time with the One who is most concerned over each of our lives. Have a good night, be safe this weekend, hope you have a place to worship if not check out Living Water on Sugarloaf Road in Hendersonville, NC.

Comments

Either no one has time to work out what they want to say or the weekend is coming and people are gong to catch up or is it possible that you think what you think isn't important? Hey everyone has a voice , God listens to all who have accepted Him. Looking forward to the your thoughts, your issues with prayer, whatever is pressing on your heart and mind every waking moment of the day- that is what we should be praying about -- speak up...

Answers

Tonight I spent time with a newer friend who is like me in so many ways I really need everyone who is reading this to pray for us that we will be attuned to God and not our own voices in agreement.
Isaiah 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
We are
seeking God's face about a burden He has placed on both our hearts, neither of us are twiddling our thumbs we in the eyes of some are too involved with too many things. Well the Guy upstairs evidently has decided His Plan is where we should be. Funny I thought I was going to write about answers to prayer when it seems this has turned into answering. How about it? Who else has God got between His headlights? What is He absolutely not giving you a choice about? Are you afraid of failing? I have no idea where the time and planning for where we are headed is going to come from but I cannot ignore the Voice. Tried that He just speaks louder and more insistent, frequently "thumping me on the head" until I wake up. Lets get brave and believe He is in Large and In Charge! Speaking of waking up, I have to get some beauty sleep. God Bless You, He sent you here.

Praying from different viewpoints

Have you ever had to pray for someone that you know is not in God's Will. First you have to ask the Holy Spirit to compel them to be honest before Him . What kind of friend asks for the blaze of the Spirit to eat out the darkness? One who has been in the dark seeking a way out and found out later those who loved me were praying for me to be shown not comfort but the truth. Which shoe are you wearing now?

PRAYER

What is going on in your prayer life? When I say prayer I'm talking about conversation with Jesus Christ. For most of my life I've been a closet prayer which is not wrong but I seldom shared my wants and needs with others or kept any kind of journal as to results when I prayed. Oh I remember some big answers but more of the plodding prayer has been more my lot, but has resulted in more patience when asking for answers. Several of my praying friends, what a great group, are of the opinion that there is a remnant in every Christian church which may not be revealed until we leave here for Heaven. Any thoughts on any of this? As you more experienced bloggers can tell this is my baptism into this form of communication.

What do we really pray about?

What are women really praying about? Emergencies in life? wish lists? For someone else? true intercession? reading authors who cause me to consider my prayer life has given me a pattern: Humbling myself, coming before the God who created the Universe putting aside all other thoughts, it takes a while. Praise which really takes a long time. Petitions for others, usually a long list since people find someone they believe gets through and asks them to really pray. Prayer for the lost in my family - I have one grandson in the homosexual life style and he gets a lot of attention. Quiet meditation which is the hardest, my bent is to jump up and run without waiting for the conversation with God to become more than just my side. Who has other ways? Who needs prayer for specific needs?
